Dr. Chong Jen Lim was born and bred in Kuantan. He is married and blessed with 2 kids.
Dr. Chong received his first degree with honours in Bachelor of Medical Sciences in 2003 and Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) qualification in 2005, both from University Putra Malaysia (UPM). Dr. Chong was recognised a medical specialist since 2009 after he passed MRCP exam by Royal College of Physician (UK).
He started his cardiology training in Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru, Malaysia in 2012 before continued sub-speciality training in cardiac imaging under Royal College of Edinburgh for 2 years. He attained level 3 accreditation in cardiac MRI from European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) and level 2 cardiac CT accreditation from British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging (BSCI). Dr. Chong also has trans-thoracic and trans-oesophageal echo accreditation from British Society of Echocardiography (BSE).
Dr. Chong’s interests include general cardiology, cardiac imaging, and interventional cardiology including complex cases. Apart from that, he is capable of implanting pacemaker and implantable cardiodefibrillator (ICD).
Besides clinical commitments, Dr. Chong served as committee member for Society of Cardiovascular Imaging of Malaysia (SCIM) 2017-2019. He is life member of National Heart Association of Malaysia (NHAM) and Malaysian Medical Association (MMA). He is the vice president of Pahang Heart Association 2019-2020. Dr. Chong is also very active in NHAM; he is the scientific chairman for NHAM congress 2019 and organising chairman for NHAM congress 2020. He had conducted multiple cardiac imaging workshops and delivered many lectures in various medical conferences locally and internationally.
